Happy Birthday Benjamin!

We would like to wish Benjamin a very happy 7th birthday!

Benjamin was born normal and lived a normal life until he fell from a tree at 4-years-old. After the fall, he was left physically disabled. Benjamin finds it difficult to move and has spent five or more months out of school due to the pain he experiences in his joints. When he is able to, Benjamin attends primary 4 where his performance is above average. He lives with his parents and his father works as a security guard. Due to his pain, Benjamin is unable to attend Sunday School, but he enjoys learning from the Bible from his parents. He helps in his home by fetching water and firewood and cleaning the house and compound.

Happy Birthday Marion!

We would like to wish Marion a very happy 6th birthday!

Marion was born physically disabled. She lives with her mother. Currently Marion is enrolled in nursery class where her performance is average, but her mother doesn't have finances to continue supporting Marion's education and Marion may need to quit school. Marion helps her mother in the garden and by cleaning the compound.

We would like to wish Harriet a very happy 6th birthday!

Harriet was born crippled in one leg. She lives with her mother who works as a peasant farmer. Harriet's mother doesn't have the finances to support Harriet's education. Harriet enjoys Sunday School and attending church. And Harriet helps in her home by gardening, fetching water and firewood, and looking over her younger siblings when her mother is not home.

Dorcas was born disabled; her fingers and toes are joined together, she has a mental illness and she is unable to speak with ease. Dorcas' parents left her in the care of her grandmother because of her disabilities. Dorcas is attending school and is in primary 4. Her class performance is poor due to the lack of fund to send her to a special needs school. Dorcas enjoys Sunday School and she helps her grandmother by fetching water and firewood and helping in the kitchen.

Christmas 2015

Dear, Sherinah's New Hope for Children With Disability Ministry sponsors,friends and well wishers.

Now in existence for over 2(two) years,Sherinah's New Hope for Children With Disability Ministry(SNH) continues to strive to expand its programs and offerings to the community. We hope that you will be able to take part in one or more of the many exciting events that we are offering this end of year and experience firsthand the pride we take in supporting our cause.  It is our mission To transform the disabled and marginalized child in to morally upright, spiritually sound and educationally competent adults through support to their educational needs, as well as providing them with spiritual guidance to become a future responsible Christians.

In order to meet our mission and provide services in our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support. Without the assistance of community-minded individuals just like you, we wouldn't be able to serve those in our community each year since our existance.  We ask that you make a commitment to support our annual appeal by making a cash donation.

This year our goal is $500 and we hope that you will be able to make a contribution. Your generosity will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue in our work.  Will you donate? Happy Birthday Ivan!

We would like to wish Ivan a very happy 14th birthday!

Ivan was born normal until 6 months of age when he became sick with a high fever which resulted in physical disability. Ivan is able to hear but unable to speak, he has a mental disability and he is unable to move on his own. Ivan lives with his grandmother since he was abandoned by his parents at age 2. Ivan's grandmother often takes him to church to be prayed for.

Happy Birthday Shairah!

Shairah turned 5 on September 4th! We would like to wish her a very happy 5th birthday!

Shariah was born deaf and she is currently both deaf and nonverbal. She lives with both of her parents. Shariah has not started school nor has she learned sign language since she lives in a rural area. She enjoys playing games with her friends. And in her home, Shariah helps her parents in the garden and doing house chores.

Biblical Instruction

We at SNH value each child in our program receiving Biblical instruction. Currently, all the children who are able to walk to church attend each Sunday. These children are able to see each other and their families as well as attend Sunday School and hear preaching.

Additionally, we desire for the children served by SNH to have instruction through the SNH ministry. Our desire is for this to happen weekly, but since Sherinah has a demanding school schedule, the children in SNH will meet once a month until Sherinah graduates. Upon Sherinah's graduation, it will become our top priority to see that each child receives Bible lessons once a week.

We hope to share more photos with you in the future of our kids receiving their monthly Bible class via SNH staff. Unfortunately, due to only one member of the ministry having a camera, it may take us a while to provide these photos. But rest assured that they children are still meeting once a month, even if the staff of SNH is unable to photograph the event.

Brevis was born normal, but lost his hearing due to an unknown illness. Brevis lives with his mother, who is a peasant farmer. Brevis is currently in primary 4, but due to lack of funds, Brevis may have to quit school. Brevis enjoys Sunday School and playing soccer, despite hearing loss. He helps his mother by gardening, fetching water and firewood, and cleaning the compound.

Lydia was born normal but became disabled after becoming sick at one-year-old. The sickness left Lydia unable to talk or move and she has to be lifted in order to move. Lydia's mother is raising Lydia on her own, as Lydia's father abandoned them after Lydia was disabled. Lydia's mother does not have a permanent job. And Lydia is currently unable to attends school due to her lack of mobility.
